Your annual YWCA membership is a declaration of support for the Mission of the YWCA: YWCA Greater Baton Rouge is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

As a member or associate, you support programs and advocacy designed to empower women, eliminate racism and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. By belonging to the YWCA Greater Baton Rouge, you are a part of the YWCA of the USA and the World YWCA as partners with a common purpose. Your membership fees help support YWCA services and projects in the 11 parish service area of the YWCA Greater Baton Rouge.

YWCA Greater Baton Rouge Membership Pledge

  • I pledge to promote gender equity and to stand up against racism.
  • I pledge to honor the dignity and inherent worth of everyone.
  • I pledge to work to empower others, while at the same time empowering myself.
  • I pledge to reject violence, in all forms.
  • I pledge, within my means, to support organizations that represent these principles.


REGULAR (VOTING) MEMBERS: Women eighteen (18) years of age and over.
TEENAGE MEMBERS: Young women twelve (12) years through seventeen (17) years of age. (Teenage members 15 – 17 are voting members. Those 12 – 15 do not have voting privileges.)
ASSOCIATES: Men and boys 12 years and over may join the YWCA as associates. Associate dues will apply at rates equal to those paid by members. Associates do not have voting rights.
