YWCA ENCOREplus provides breast health education, outreach and referrals for screenings (mammograms/clinical breast exams)

YWCA ENCOREplus is designed to reduce deaths due to breast cancer among high-risk, medically underserved women. We offer grassroots breast health education, outreach and referrals for breast screenings (mammography and clinical breast exams) which are provided by our medical partners, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and Woman's Hospital. The program focuses on African American women aged 40 and older because of their disproportionately high death rate from breast cancer, chiefly due to late detection; however, women and men of all races and ethnicities are served. YWCA ENCOREplus serves the Parishes of East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana, East Feliciana, Ascension, Livingston, Tangipahoa, St. Helena, Pointe Coupee, St. James, and Iberville and ensures women have access to educational information about the importance of breast health.  >> Read More
